Instigator Films is a company that focuses on two strands of production: ambitious, compelling documentaries and striking, daring contemporary stories. Our work is never bland, never safe, and often unforgettable.

Instigator Films is currently developing several new feature documentary projects, one of which has received funding from Screen Ireland.


Other work in development includes several short drama productions and new feature film projects.


Past Work


To date, Instigator Films has produced two feature films, both of which got nationwide cinema releases in Ireland, one of which got a television broadcast on RTE, and several short productions, one of which also got a television broadcast on RTE. We have also produced a very wide range of corporate media.

Filming Taoiseach Enda Kenny at the National Enterprise Awards (May 2017) in the Mansion House Dublin. We did the live video camera work on the night and produced a bespoke 3D animated backdrop for the ultra-wide video screen used through the event (actually two high-definition projected screens joined together).

This motion graphics presentation was produced for Irish company Premium Power who displayed it on a large screen, on a loop, at their trade stand at the Energy Show at the RDS in Dublin.

About


Instigator Films was founded by award-winning filmmaker and writer Brian Lally to make ground-breaking innovative independent films, often outside of the mainstream. He works with a range of different collaborators on each project. Brian is based in Dublin, Ireland but works internationally. He has given talks at film festivals around the world, and universities about his work. He has also conducted public interviews with other filmmakers at venues such as the Irish Film Institute (IFI).
